kate52 Posted August 12, 2011 #2 Share Posted August 12, 2011 Shops, bars and restaurants! It's quite a pretty place but very small. There are some boat trips from the small harbour right next to the dock. We ventured to the nearest beach to the right of the town, but the sand was gritty, it shelved very steeply into the sea, and the waves were far too strong for poor/moderate swimmers. A few expensive sunbeds but no parasols. Nice flowers growing on the edge of the beach, though! There is another beach on the other side of town, a bit further away, may be better. On a previous visit we have been on a trip to Sartene- beautiful little old town with lots of history and stunning scenery. kate
stan01 Posted August 13, 2011 #3 Share Posted August 13, 2011 Its a small village/resort ... a resort area but not very touristy. Shopping and cafes/bars. There are also beaches. Also could take some day trips up into some of the mountain villages (Sartene as has been suggested). Bonifacio is about a 90 minute drive each way as well. We enjoyed it.
