Question about booking excursions

My family and I are taking our first cruise on NCL in a couple weeks :D. We are taking the Star to Alaska. I read somewhere that when you book your excursions that they add it to your onboard account. When we booked them last night we were asked for a credit card number. It was not a big deal we gave our cc number and booked them. Did they change the booking policy, did I misread something, or do they just put a hold on your card when you book then add the charges to your onboard account? Thanks for the info, looking forward to the freestyle experience.

The policy did change at the end of July...excursions are now charged to CC at time of booking.

computerworks is 100% correct :D, when you book excursions in advance online, you pay for it in advance, as you saw last night. :)

if you had booked other excursions for your sailing prior to the change you would have been able to book the rest of them without paying upfront and be charged to your onboard account.

 

glad i was doing this all along for my December sailling.
