Are there coffe pots in the cabins?

I think this depends on your cabin type.

For the Dawn, Star and Pearl. You have the 4 cup hotel style coffee makers in balcony cabins and up. Suites have some fancy french press machine.

If you are in a balcony bring 4c coffee filters with you along with your coffee, as they have the factory made pods, so you will need filters.

Sorry I can't help you with how strong the ship coffee is as we hated the ship coffee and from different posts, I've read, it also depends on where it is gotten from. Buffet/MDR/Room service.

BTW we don't care for Starbucks either so I can't even give you a comparison. To our tastes, I can drink a Starbucks, I couldn't drink the stuff they made on the ship. Others will tell you it's great.

My suggestion if you are picky like I am and have a balcony + cabin bring your own.

Thank you for the reminder about the filters....I would have forgotten them!

I love my coffee real strong and was wondering if I can bring my Starbucks with me and brew a pot in the morning?

That being said, is the coffee nice and strong on the Gem?

As a coffee fanatic and Starbucks drinker, I can tell you that the coffee out of the machines in the buffet and in the MDR isn't anything special on any of the NCL ships.

The only exception is the great French press coffee served in Cagney's. If you are sailing in a PH suite or higher you will be able to get that for breakfast and lunch, and you may also have a Lavazza espresso machine in your suite.

You can get an Americano or other espresso drink made for you in the Java Cafe, but you will be paying extra for them.

I'd bring your Starbucks supplies and filters if you want to make your own in the room.
