Rothschild Villa or Nice?

We'll be in Villefranche for the day at the end of this month. We plan to go to Monte Carlo in the afternoon, but can't decide between Rothschild Villa or Nice in the morning. Does anyone have any opinions that could help us decide? Thanks!

well it is a big difference between one villa and a big city of 350,000 people.

the villa is very nice and i went to a wedding there. if you have travel extensive in Europe you will have seen similar private palaces (villa is not a fair word) and the gardens are lovely.

nice is a nice city with a 2000 years of history, greeks to romans to charlie chaplin. the old town is great and hides many treasures and the castle hill is a great vantage point.

this is a good tour in nice city (covering a lot both old nice and castle hill):

it is be more hurried if you come to Nice from VF and then go to Monaco.

either way in Nice or at the Villa you will have a great time.

When in Villefranche, we went to the Rothchild Villa and enjoyed the few hours spent there very much. The gardens and views are wonderful.

Our cruiseship was tendered and it took a long time to get off. Take this into consideration when you plan your day. By the time we got to the Villa, it was probably around noon and we returned around 5pm.
