Just off the Quest - any questions?

Just off the Odyssey and embarkation was a very bad start to a nice cruise. Got on in Istanbul at approximately 2:15 and instead of going to our cabin we were escorted to the Grand Salon. It was a beautiful day in Istanbul but all the drapes were closed and they were showing a bizarre reality show from the BBC. We waited for over an hour and they eventually escorted everyone one group at a time to their cabin. ...

 

You are not restricted to staying in the Grand Salon. Some passengers go up to the Seabourn Square and have some snacks while waiting. You can at any time ask about the readiness of your suite, which may be ready earlier than the general announcement.

Paco...very interesting. Now that we know what to expect, I am sure that we will have no problem. We will board after 2PM and see how it goes.

 

O&R...two subjects that always seem to lead to vitriolic arguments on the boards are dress codes and smoking, so I think that I will leave that one alone! We are non-smokers who detest smoking and if Seabourn's smoking policy is even less restrictive than Crystal's liberal smoking policy, then we may not like it, but as we are trying Seabourn for the first time, that is one of the things that we will just have to find out.

 

SF, thanks for your input. I don't like to be confined to any room, much less a dark room with a television,(especially on a cruise ship) so I am glad to learn that I can make an escape to another venue.
