More decor around the ship (this was in the atrium)

After the Trick or Treating we made our way back to the cabin to change into our formal clothes. They were having a costume contest for the kids back at Camp Carnival, so my mom took my daughter while I finished getting ready. That night our dinner in the Scarlet dining room was wonderful even though I can't remember exactly what we had. My daughter and I had some sort of steak, and I think every one else had the lobster dinner. My cousin & her family did not come this night, so there were only 6 of us. Oh and our desert was cute and appropriately themed!

I had the pumpkin cheesecake and it was supposed to look like a ghost (I think). The mini pumpkin was too cute!

After dinner we strolled around people watching and checking out the costumes. I have to really hand it to those who dressed up, some people really went all out. We saw so many amazing costumes, wish I had snapped more pics! There was a costume contest for the adults at 10:30 but we went to have pictures taken and then to drop my daughter off at CC for their Halloween Mardi Gra party and by the time we made it back to the theater it was ending.

This group was all costumed like the characters from Alice in Wonderland, loved it, wish I had gotten a better pic!

And my fave...Isacc & Julie from the Love Boat! HAHAHAHA!

Final thoughts on Halloween at Sea...

I am a HUGE fan of Halloween, I love the decor, the costumes, the parties, its just all around fun for us! Our first cruise was the week before Halloween and Carnival did an amazing job that year, we sailed on Disney right before Halloween another year and they go all out. They give tons of candy and have big parties, do crafts and activities of all sorts. But overall I just wasn't impressed with Halloween on Carnival this year. For the adults it's great, but even though they had the kid parties and the trick or treating, I think it left a lot to be desired. I can't really explain it, but the parties & stuff that Carnival did was just missing something. And the trick or treating is what kids look forward to all year, my kids are not greedy by any means, but I could tell the kids were bummed to only have gotten a few pieces of candy (we only went to 8 candy stations so the girls had 8 pieces of candy). I know some might say they don't need it, or that is plenty but if you look at it from a kids point of view it's what Halloween is all about. Anyway it doesn't change the fact that we love Carnival, just wish my favorite cruise line & my fave holiday would have been as amazing together as I had hoped.

Anyway, it had been a long day, so we all headed to bed to get some rest for our first port of call tomorrow...COZUMEL! I'll end this with a few pics of us while we were all dressed up.

I would talk to your Dr to be certain, but I always take Dramamine for myself and the kids. The kids have never asked for it or needed it but I have used it every cruise! IMHO it's better to prevent it from the get go.

Does anyone know if they do the halloween celebration the week prior as well. I have read several posts saying that they do. I just can't seem to get a definitive answer. We cruised the dream last year at halloween. But I was hoping that they might do something the week before as well.

This is a fantastic review! We are sailing the dream on December 31 with our two kids. Thanks for posting the Camp Carnival schedule. My oldest is really excited about all of the activities (I think he pictures himself being able to play videogames 24/7, but that's another story)
