CASPALL Posted August 23, 2011 #1 Share Posted August 23, 2011 I woke up this morning to a wonderful summers day and when I looked out my window there was the Arcadia lying off Lerwick harbour. I had breakfast in the garden to enjoy my wonderful view. Last time I saw Arcadia was when we disembarked from her in Barbados - 7 or 8 yrs ago. I hope all the passengers are enjoying Shetland. We haven't had many warm sunny days this summer. The only problem will be the midges - they are biting like mad after all the wet weather :( Wish I was sailing on Arcadia tonight! Bon Voyage! It really does make you yearn for a cruise doesn't it?
BORDER REIVER Posted August 23, 2011 #5 Share Posted August 23, 2011 Midges in Shetland - what a surprise. We visited for a week in June 3 years ago and it was very cold, with a never-ending wind and sleet at times - beautiful place though - especially Eshaness. Best sticky toffee pudding ever at Haroldswick. The only time I've seen Arcadia, was in Akureyri, Iceland.last year when we were there on Aurora.
