Which is the best cenote for snorkeling near Cozumel

or cave snorkeling?

First off, there are no cenotes worth snorkeling on CZM that I know of. I have heard of one or 2 that people are taking x-rails to and swimming in, but from what I read, I don't think there all that great.

The Cenotes at Xcaret are man made and frankly after you see a real cenote you realize that it doesn't even resemble one.

All that being said, there are many cenotes on the mainland. My favorite thus far and I've only done a few, are the ones at Hidden Worlds. The bad news is that it's almost to TULUM. So you will have to take the ferry to playa and then a collectivo from Playa to Hidden worlds just North of Tulum. I don't know that I would do that with the cruise ship time constraints.

So I guess I'm not much help.

Maybe you can find another Cenote excursion closer to Playa? Still going to require a Ferry ride and collectivo or taxi.
