sippican Posted August 31, 2011 #1 Share Posted August 31, 2011 Sorry, I'm sure this has been discussed before, but with the continued difficulties with the search feature, I'd appreciate the help of CC members. Will be spending two days in Venice, and trying to decide between the ship's water shuttle, or public transportation (or a combination of both). We have an early morning tour at the Doge's Palace and I'd like ro plan accordingly. The People Mover and Vapopretto seem to offer the most flexibility to come and go as we please, and move around on the canals and lagoon. I am wondering how long it would take to get from the ship to San Marco using public transportation it looks like the Vaporetto has a number of stops. Is there any advantage to ordering the Vapporetto 36 hour ticket ahead of time? For anyone familiar with Royal Caribbean's water shuttle - how long does that take. Does it run late into the evening? Thank you in advance.
sippican Posted August 31, 2011 Author #2 Share Posted August 31, 2011 Sorry, I know I should have put "Venice" in the title of this thread. I couldn't go back and edit for some reason. :(
fla jack Posted August 31, 2011 #3 Share Posted August 31, 2011 "If" the ships shuttle runs directly from the pier to San Marks that is the quickest way to get to the Doges Palace. In 09 the Ruby Princess ran a similiar shuttle non-stop to St. Marks so other lines probably do the same. Jack
