Cabin with 2 uppers

My cabin shows that is has two twin beds and two uppers. As I am just traveling with my wife we will have beds placed together. Do the uppers stay in place or are you able to fold them into the wall?

They are kept folded up if not needed~that box above the head of the bed is one of the uppers~ the other one is on the opposite side of the room~this is an interior, btw

If you are on a Fantasy class ship, the uppers will be folded up against the wall, like in the pic from the previous poster. If this is on a Triumph/Destiny, Splendor, Conquest, or Dream class ship, any upper that is not used is folded up into the ceiling. On those ships, you would probably never even realize that there are unused uppers in your room. On the Conquest, I didn't realize that we had an unused upper in our room. If it's a Spirit class ship, I'm not sure how they are set up.
