Need port info for friends using canes & walkers

Several in our cruising party have limited mobility and use canes & walkers. We'd like to know if there is much to see & do in the immediate area where the cruise ships dock. Shopping? Craft markets, sights to see, etc.?

Not a whole lot near the port area. Probably better off booking an excursion or staying on board.

I use a rolling walker and. Poked a tour with Lawrence of Antigua that was wonderful. He will be able to design a tour to meet their needs. You can google him to find his website.

I agree about considering a tour with Lawrence (lawrenceofantigua). If you let him know in advance, he will customize a tour for you. When we took our tour with Lawrence, I was having some knee problems and he was very solicitous and thoughtful.

Once you get away from the shops in the immediate vicinity of the pier, the sidewalks in St Johns can be uneven with very high kerbs, so difficult for people with walking problems.

We only had a very short time waiting near the ship before we went on an all day tour with Eli's Eco Tours (boat tour), but I did manage to get in some shopping right near the pier. I remember the shops there as being very nice, but there were not many of them.
