CruizenSuzen Posted March 29, 2005 #1 Share Posted March 29, 2005 I'm looking for a Stingray City tour and have heard each of these mentioned. My husband loves snorkeling but unfortunately, I get seasick relatively easy. I'm willing to tough it out, but am trying to research the best options. What kind of boat does each tour use? Any good/bad experiences with either? Thanks in advance!
por911 Posted March 29, 2005 #2 Share Posted March 29, 2005 I read a post about sotos yes. saying that they were not very friendly and left them waiting for quite a while w/o telling them why. so I think they started late. Anyway, we had our tour booked through sotos - I just cancelled-had sev. mention Capt. Marvins, so e-mailed them last pm and rec. very prompt response this am and so now were booked with them. zydecocruiser Posted March 29, 2005 #3 Share Posted March 29, 2005 You can't please all the people all the time with any of the tours, nor should you believe everything you read on Cruise Critic. Having said that, you can believe this: I've been out with Soto's and really enjoyed my trip with them. They were very friendly. Once again, my pics from Soto's from last November: zydecocruiser's Album:Conquest 11/7/04 Zydeco Cruise Click on the link above to view the 118 pictures in this album. Please do not use the owner's pictures in an unexpected way. <IMG id=pageCounter height=1 width=1 border=0> Bryan does use catamarans whereas Soto's has a powerboat. Catamarans do tend to be more stable, powerboats tend to be faster. I think it is kind of a toss up (oops), but you're mileage may vary.
waterloggedII Posted March 30, 2005 #4 Share Posted March 30, 2005 Sotos is cheaper and has a much faster boat, so you will get back sooner and have time to do other things. If you book direct with them you can get a $29 price. http://www.sotoscruises.com
kjunea Posted March 30, 2005 #5 Share Posted March 30, 2005 I have booked with Capt. Bryans because of the Catamaran. I've been on several at different ports and they are very stable and a fun way to go. I've also been on Zodiac boats and regular boats. Prefer the Cat. The prices are good and they have two different tours -- a 2 stop and a 3 stop. We are doing the 3 stop. June
