kazurious Posted September 13, 2011 #1 Share Posted September 13, 2011 We are sailing on the Carnival Valor and wanted to book Island Marketing's Jeep tour for this coming Tuesday 9-20. Just found out they can't accommodate us on that day. Any suggestions for another similar tour? Really want to go to the Rum cake factory and also Rum Point. Not into seeing the Stingrays. Just want to snorkel and relax somewhere beautiful. Should we just rent a jeep and make our own way around the island? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated! TurtleTagger Posted September 13, 2011 #2 Share Posted September 13, 2011 "Should we just rent a jeep and make our own way around the island?" I say Yes. A car or small SUV that fits your group will probably cost less than a Jeep though. A jeep tour is overkill on a flat and easy to drive place like Grand Cayman. Here is a good driving tour itinerary to see a good chunk of the island. You would just need to make a diversion in George Town in order to stop at the Rum Cake factory by the airport area. Trip Advisor's Grand Cayman Driving Tour Some places to snorkel along the way are at Smith Cove, Governor Russell Beach by the Bodden Town Cemetery, the Reef & Morritt's Resort, Barefoot Beach, Queen's Monument/Connolly's Cove and the areas by the retreat Condos at Rum Point (the beach at Rum point is not the best for snorkeling).
