Which ruins have the most history

Been reading the boards, but can't find answers. Been to Altun Ha (not to impressed). Want to get the most of the history and see the most excavations of the other two "L" and "X". I know trips are long, not interested in boat ride unless that ruin is more historical than the other. After seeing Chichen Itza, having trouble finding another as awesome. Help please.

I can't say about Xunantunich having never visited that site. But I've been to Altun Ha, Tulum, and Chichen Itza.

 

In my opinion Chichen Itza is the most impressive!
