gospelle Posted March 30, 2005 #1 Share Posted March 30, 2005 My friends and I are sailing on the May 1 sailing of the Valor. This is also the day the newley un-cancelled Family Guy TV show airs its season premier. We are all big fans and would like to watch it. Does the ship carry Fox? Would it be shown via an Eastern Time station? What bars / lounges on board have TV's and what are the chances I could get them to tune in Family Guy? Any help is apprieciated. Thanks,
GoinCruisin Posted March 30, 2005 #2 Share Posted March 30, 2005 Hmmm, well... that is a first! LOL! I have only seen them broadcast mainstream sporting events and major TV shows... so I am not sure of any "bars" that would show this show... I would guess if nobody is in the bar, you could ask them to change the channel if it's not on?

Runner Girl Posted March 30, 2005 #7 Share Posted March 30, 2005 On the Conquest, we went to the sports bar and asked if they'd turn on Survivor and they did. There weren't any major sporting events on so they were fine with it, once they got someone there who was allowed to change the channel. Only the supervisor was allowed to do so. zydecocruiser Posted March 30, 2005 #13 Share Posted March 30, 2005 I didn't see fox in that list of channels. :( Me neither, but it is all via satellite, so they can get it, just not in your cabin. Try the sports bar - there are a number of TVS tuned to different things.
lauram Posted March 30, 2005 #14 Share Posted March 30, 2005 Why don't you just tape it? I do that all the time when I'm on vacation.
gospelle Posted March 30, 2005 Author #15 Share Posted March 30, 2005 Taping it is all fine and dandy, but that's sort of missing the point. My friend who is a huge fan, also is celebrating his Birthday May 1st. The whole idea of the first day of our cruise, plus the first new Family Guy episode in years, plus his Birthday has the makings of a momorable night. Watching it at home two weeks later just doesn't have the same sort of appeal. Dang it. :p
Treadonu Posted April 1, 2005 #16 Share Posted April 1, 2005 I'll be on the Destiny when the new season starts, so I guess I might miss it also. No Fox on the ship, however there is the Cartoon Network. I read somewhere that "adult swim" (Cartoon network after 11pm-in case you don't have it there) will be airing the new episodes a few days after Fox does. So you may still get to see it while on the ship.
