ombrelle Posted September 21, 2011 #1 Share Posted September 21, 2011 ;) Does Cunard have a welcome back party? If not, I think they should, having so many loyal Cunarders.;) You know, the balloons in the room, extra fruit and cookies in the cabin.:D:D Kind of makes you feel special.:Seriously, they should have a welcome back ball. What do you all think about this?:)
Rare 3rdGenCunarder Posted September 21, 2011 #2 Share Posted September 21, 2011 They have a World Club party. I suppose you could say that's a welcome back party. I don't want balloons and cookies as a welcome gift. I'd rather have a decent bottle of bubbly instead of the dreaded Pol Acker.

Just my personal opinion, but the last thing Cunard lacks is themes for "Balls". Upon embarkation, I'm quite happy with a little pre-printed note in my cabin that says "WELCOME BACK". A welcome back note, with a good bottle of sparkling bubble, would keep everybody happy!;);)
Whitemarsh Posted September 21, 2011 #6 Share Posted September 21, 2011 We had a 'Welcome back' card in our suite on our very first cruise. It was a nice touch but quite funny. Better than "Oh, it's you again."

Jimsgirl Posted September 21, 2011 #8 Share Posted September 21, 2011 It is still Pol Acker though. Previously I have "complained" that when I tood my bottle to my table in the dining room, I was charged $15 to open it . In Feb I was very pleasantly suprised to be told "there is no charge for opening your Cunard gift bottle" by the wine steward, I did mention this to another passenger who told me that their wine steward had charged for opening the Pol Acker. It seems there is no corporate policy, it is left to the wine steward to charge or not to charge. Another thread has raised to point that if you are a returning passenger doing B2B you do not get invites to the parties on the second leg of your cruises. This was so on my Feb Cruise.
