Freestyle dining reservations?

Hi,

I'm booked on the Norwegian Star for 4/18. I've been reading the boards for awhile now, and I'm sorry if this is a stupid question, but here goes:

Do we have to make dinner reservations for the main dining rooms? Some people have posted about making reservations for dinner; are they referring to the specialty (a.k.a. "not free") restaurants?

you don't have to make reservations at the main dining rooms. However there are free(speciality) restuarants that you do need to make reservations for. There are also charge restuarants that also need reservations....

I didn't realize there are specialty restaurants that are free. I thought only the main dining rooms and the buffet/snack-type places were free.

Another question: Are soft drinks free?

no- I assume you mean soda(pop). Ice tea and tap water are free..

Yes, I meant soda pop. I think it was free when I cruised on Celebrity a couple of years ago (can't remember for sure, though). What about coffee? Gotta have that caffeine, even on vacation.

Coffee and tea are free pretty much everywhere.Good room service coffee and cookies in the pm. Capuccino is free in the dining rooms.

Celebrity, NCL, Overnight Ferry, hydrofoil between countries, car ferries and river cruise and of course the Staten Island Ferry

espresso is also free on the Sun in the dining rooms.... a good idea with desert if you are planning late night activites.

This is an old thread, their ship has sailed many months ago. I will be on the STAR the week before you.........and will try to leave it in one piece for you.

Thanks I didn't notice the dates due to all of a sudden it coming to the top. I'll check out your roll call be haven't seen any for my cruise yet but thought I'd post one after the holidays.

Celebrity charges for sodas. The ice tea, lemonade, punch and coffee are are free and are available at all times.
