Halifax treasures hunt

got these from a Halifax map on a recent trip there. If you plan to just walk around downtown look for these interesting places:

The board walk is the world's longest, 4 km, has many shops, buskers, vendors and attractions

Pier 21 is the last remaining ocean immigration shed and serves as a museum of immigration.

Government House on Barrington St is the residence of the Lt Governor of NS, but is also the Queen's Royal Residence in NS and is the oldest viceregal residence in Canada.

Communications Tower on Citadel Hill is part of a semaphore telegraph line. Using a series of flags the Citadel was able to communicate with ships in the harbour and outposts using relay stations.

Province House was the site for the first form of responsible government in the British Empire outside the UK.

George's Island was an important military post soon to be open to the public. It is full of hidden tunnels and hauntings and stories.

The clock tower was built in 1800, has 4 faces to keep Halifax on time.

Town Hall clock - one of the faces never change time - it stopped during the Halifax explosion. It was left as a memorial to the largest man-made non-nuclear explosion ever.

St Paul's church built in 1750 has the silhouette of a man killed in the explosion. The glass was replaced but the silouette reappeared and can be seen as you stand on Argyle St.

There's a Westin Hotel at the pier so you may be able to rent there. The "treasures" I mentioned are all walking distance from the ship.
