Kween Karen Posted October 9, 2011 #1 Share Posted October 9, 2011 I will be visiting these 2 ports in April on board the Prinsendam. These seem to be less visiting ports.....at least I am having difficulty finding information about them. Any ideas? Suggestions?
maddyred Posted October 11, 2011 #2 Share Posted October 11, 2011 Hi, We have just returned from a cruise of the western med and docked in Sete...... Its a nice town, many cafe 's and people watching activities to be had BUT I wished we would have done the ships excursion in to Montpelier. Once you are off the main area, it gets a bit scruffy and lord.... the dog poo!! my husband joked that all the French walked with their heads down, so they didnt stand in any of it!!:eek: Designer dogs or any dogs for that matter should be followed up with a doggy bag, but instead it seemed to end up under someones shoe! So be aware, and if there is a chance of a excursion elsewhere, I would opt for that then return and just spend a little time in Sete to take a couple of photos, and a cofee ;);):D Hope this helps xx regards Maddy

SETOISE Posted November 21, 2011 #4 Share Posted November 21, 2011 I can't help responding to the post about Sète because I am a canadian living in Sète and love it despite the dog poo (there is dog poo everywhere in France). It is an authentic, lively town called the "Venice of France" bordered by canals on one side and the Mediterranean sea with fabulous sandy beaches on the other. Amazing galleries, 3 art museums, a local indoor market with plenty of seafood. There is a new gourmet walking tour to be operated in Sète starting next April dedicated to cruise ship passengers which can make the stay well worth while.
