Belize Snorkeling/Ruins

Hi Folks,

Just back from a week staying at Grande Caribe on Ambergris Caye, Belize.

I wanted to share a couple of excellent excursion operators.

Snorkeling: On Ambergris Caye, contact AMIGOS DEL MAR, amigosdive@btl.net ask for a trip with Babar. He is excellent!!! Very safe, knowledgeable, local, great prices. We paid $40 for a trip to Hol Chan and shark/ray alley. Our group of 4 were the only ones on the boat. Babar does not rush, you set the pace! The office is located in San Pedro, where the water taxi Pier pick up/drop off is. You can't miss it.

Ruins/Cave Tubing/Zip lines: We went with Vital Nature and Mayan Tours, http://www.cavetubing.bz/ Again, we left from Ambergris Caye, but the fun starts at Belize City where the air conditioned van picked us at at the ferry pier. Vital Jr. was waiting for us and drove the van. Showing us the country in comfort. We went to Altun Ha Mayan Ruins first and then Cave Tubing. Again, just us 4 in the big van, NICE! Vital Sr. met us at the ruins and gave us an excellent tour. (good burn walking those steps!) Then another ride to cave tubing. This was a blast! Bats in the caves, but they don't bother you at all. I would do all of these trips again!
