private cave tours, ruin tours & zip line in belize

I have been on these boards for hours until I am bleary eyed! My husband and two kids (11 & 14) are adventurous and physically fit, and we are trying to figure out what to do in Belize. We are fine booking tours privately, we like to save the money over cruise ship excursions.

 

I would appreciate any experiences on cave tours, ruin tours and the zip line in Belize. It seems like everything is at least 30 - 60 min drive outside Belize City.

 

Have you had great luck with any specific tour groups? I would really like to see the ruins, I have been to the Caribbean 5 times now and never been to the ruins. But it would need to be interesting to my family too.

I booked the Xanantunich tour through Carnival for our Feb 2012 Western on Glory. At $85 (lunch included) it was no more $ than anyone private and I get on the first tender legit.:D
