HisWife1908 Posted October 17, 2011 #1 Share Posted October 17, 2011 **I also posted this note in the Jamaica port section. I was not sure where I should post since I wanted information on both islands.** DH and I want to renew our vows on our island. Our selected cruise ports in Grand Cayman and Ocho Rios. I've been to Negril and Montego Bay but never to Ocho Rios. Both ports will be new experiences for DH. DH also prefers to get say our vows with a waterfall as a backdrop. Any suggestion on the better island? Secondly, any suggestions on affordable companies to use? Since this is a renewal, we don't want to spend more than a couple hundred bucks for a 5 minute ceremony. Thanks for the suggestions!
TurtleTagger Posted October 17, 2011 #2 Share Posted October 17, 2011 No natural waterfalls on Grand Cayman. No rivers either. Smith Cove is a scenic spot that is popular for wedding and vow renewals though. Star1 Posted October 19, 2011 #4 Share Posted October 19, 2011 Remember your pictures will not look like that. This is a great place to snorkle at or swim. Having ships in port will have people in the water. I have a great picture of my husband and me at the beach. In the background are people with snorkle gear on. One person really sticks out in the picture. We laugh at it now!! Have you looked into having it on the ship. We were on Princess and had a great renewal package a few years back. People we met on the ship came to our wedding, we got gifts, danced all night with our new friends. It was a great renewal. Who is going to renew the vows?? If you have afriend along with you --the ship deck looking at the water is a great place to say vows on Elegant night. People set a few chairs around, you can make your own wedding. Just remember the wind can mess up your hair so a small vail works best. good luck
TurtleTagger Posted October 19, 2011 #5 Share Posted October 19, 2011 Just a fyi. The wedding/vow coordinators on the island usually do a commendable job of arranging for on beach ceremonies for cruise visitors to be conducted before the hoards descend...
