Dunn River Falls: Book ahead with Tour or Go it Alone?

Would like to hear how others have gone to Dunn River Falls. I've read lots of posts regarding several great tour guides but has anyone just walked off the ship and hailed a taxi to go to Dunn River Falls? We are interested in just doing the falls and nothing else (well, maybe a little Margaritaville after:)). What was the cost and how easy was it on your own? Thank you!

The drive from Montego Bay to Dunn's River Falls is LONG LONG LONG....through towns, bad roads..... Not something you'd want to do by taxi.

not sure which dock your going to but if in ocho you can catch taxi easy and do falls by self not to hard. its been a couple yrs since we did falls have did it 3 times but not sure of costs. :)
