morneau Posted October 21, 2011 #1 Share Posted October 21, 2011 We are booked into a signature suite (deck seven) on the Odyssey and wonder if anyone has any information positive or negative about the suites? I am motion sensitive and wonder if perhaps it is a bit too far forward....Any input would be helpful:)

If they get rough, expect more motion than midship and lower deck suites.
Martita B. Posted October 21, 2011 #3 Share Posted October 21, 2011 What suite #? I've had Deck 7 (midship suites) twice on the larger ships on Transatlantic Crossings and never felt 'ocean motion.' Martita B
morneau Posted October 21, 2011 Author #4 Share Posted October 21, 2011 We're in suite #701, and it looks wonderful but just a bit worried about how far forward it is....Thanks for your replies!
Martita B. Posted October 21, 2011 #5 Share Posted October 21, 2011 Suite # 701 should be just fine unless the ship hits heavy swells ~ then you may notice the motion. What cruise ~what location? MB
morneau Posted October 21, 2011 Author #6 Share Posted October 21, 2011 Thanks for your help - we're doing the "Turkish Delights" cruise at the end of April, Athens to Istanbul....really looking forward to it! Would like to go right now, actually....:)
Martita B. Posted October 21, 2011 #7 Share Posted October 21, 2011 That will be delightful and you'll be just fine ~~I was hoping you weren't going to reply, "we'll be goin' 'round the horn!" Perfect time of the year ~ Enjoy! MB
morneau Posted October 21, 2011 Author #8 Share Posted October 21, 2011 Haha - only calm seas for me, thanks!!!
Signdy Posted October 22, 2011 #9 Share Posted October 22, 2011 Is there such a thing as a forecast for how rough or calm the sea is expected to be in a given location? Can one tell by the weather forecast? I'd rather not take any seasickness prevention unless big swells are expected. But I don't want to get caught unprepared, either. Otis Posted October 22, 2011 #10 Share Posted October 22, 2011 We were in 701 on an Adriatic Cruise this summer. It is a spectacular suite in every way. We had no problems at all with motion and were so comfortable that we spent almost all of our time in the suite rather than exploring the other offerings of the ship. You have something special to look forward to......enjoy.
morneau Posted October 23, 2011 Author #11 Share Posted October 23, 2011 Thanks so much Otis - that's so good to know! I'm thinking we may not venture too much farther than Seabourn Square!
