Cabin catagory

Just what do the cabin catorgories mean. I am looking at a Balcony on Destiny Deck 8 Veranda Rm 8158 is 8E 8216 is 8D. not much of a price difference but wondering just what the letters mean.

You'll need to look at the ship deck plans. Rooms are categorized by standard balcony, extended balcony, aft balcony, and also by location, and deck. The deck plans will show you the different categories.

Also the lower the letter the lower deck you are on...

The easiest answer is cabins in the middle are more desirable, So they're a higher category. Higher decks are also a higher category.

It often has to do with how far forward or how far aft you are since some categories are on multiple decks. Also, Find out what is above and below the cabin you are thinking of booking. Beware of cabins under the galley - sounds like Yan can cook over your head with chopping on stainless at 4am. Beware of cabins under the disco, showroom or other promenade venues that run late at night if you like to sleep. If Carnival is going to keep the action going on Lido at night now that will be another consideration. Ideally, you will have passenger cabins above and below your cabin so that it is quieter. You won't find an 8A or 8B on deck 8 tho... Deck 6 is the deck if you are booking a balcony to be sure to check as you say where lounges or disco is located...
