Lobster recommendations

We will be in Roatan in just a few weeks. I would like to go to a free beach and eat a good lobster meal. (perferably cheap meal) I would appreciate any suggestions!!!

Also, I have been reading about Roatan and it seems that most people get a private guide for the day. Is this necessary??? Can you just catch a cab or is there local transportation?

Thanks sooo much!!

I do not find any of the food on the island to be cheap, but I s'pose it is all relative. We are not talking Guatemala prices here, more like your typical American prices.

All the beaches free, it is the facilities and amenities one has to pay for.

The Lobster Pot just past West End is on the beach.

Wait, maybe you didn't mean the lobster should be serve on the beach. My guess is many places serve lobster.

Foster's in West Bay, has a menu.

Celeste's gets alot of attention for her baleada's.

Half Moon Bay in West End has good reviews.

Light House in West End.

Besos is a new favorite of many people.

Goodnes, one could not list them all. :)

This site may give you some info about transport options.

I think people enjoy a private driver cause they are going more than one place, or they wish to see more of the island than just a cab from point A to point B.

Edit ~ Then I saw this have a look at post 8.

Lobster tails must be a minimum 5 inches, remember this when enjoying that dinner nd please take note of those that are not because people harvesting and selling lobster for the tourism industry is depleting a natural resource , if they are not 5 inches they are not legal no matter what the waiter tells you, he will try to say it is a new species or they are imported but that is not the case
