2minpins Posted October 29, 2011 #1 Share Posted October 29, 2011 Can anyone tell me the approximate current price (and size - 750ml or 1L) of this rum in San Juan, PR? Also where is the best place to buy? I'm thinking it may be the duty free shop at the airport? Thanks!
ozark74 Posted October 30, 2011 #2 Share Posted October 30, 2011 Can anyone tell me the approximate current price (and size - 750ml or 1L) of this rum in San Juan, PR? Also where is the best place to buy? I'm thinking it may be the duty free shop at the airport? Thanks! Bought Don Q at the airport in March one liter silver was $12.50. Absolut one liter was $16.00 and Don Q mojito 750ml was13.50. It was better buying at the airport because you can carry it on and not worry about checking it. sadie8 Posted October 30, 2011 #3 Share Posted October 30, 2011 We found the best prices at the cruise ship terminal and at the airport. The Don Q store in Old San Juan was higher.
m steve Posted October 30, 2011 #4 Share Posted October 30, 2011 offered Don Q ltr for $10.95 and buy 3, get 1 free. The Anejo was $39.95 for a 750. Last years catalog price. Same deal on Bacardi and Mt. Gay was $10.95 ltr. Actually it's not DF but tax free and doesn't affect your DF allowance. Same as if you bought it at home, but cheaper. 2minpins Posted November 1, 2011 Author #5 Share Posted November 1, 2011 Thanks for all of the resppnses! One more question on Rum prices... Does anyone know if the airport in san juan carries (and at what price) the Appleton 30 yr old rum - NOT the master blend, but the 30 yr old special issue that they did? This is the one where the aging is a minimum of 30 years...the master blend is one where the aging is mixed, which included some UP TO 30 yrs. It was about $325 for a 750ml bottle at a duty free store in Falmouth, which is the only place I have seen it.

I am 99% sure the answer is no- they won't have Appleton, especially not the special one.
m steve Posted November 3, 2011 #7 Share Posted November 3, 2011 but I would be hard to pay $325 for a bottlle. The DF store in Jamaica offered 21 yr old at $110 for a 750 and $75 for Blenders legacy. I bought 3 ltrs of Extra for $57 and the Reserve for $48. The most expensive rhums are from Martinique and they can run into$1000.
