cruiseyguy Posted April 5, 2005 #2 Share Posted April 5, 2005 No but the idea is that the cash should be used in the casino. So don't say anything to the contrary to the tellers and, just to be fair, go ahead and bet a little.

canderson Posted April 5, 2005 #4 Share Posted April 5, 2005 ThanksNo, and furthermore, it shows up as a sale on your credit card, not a cash advance, so you'll also be able to get whatever "premium points" your card may provide. For example, if you have an airline credit card, you wouldn't get miles for a cash advance, but as it shows as a sale like any and all other charges related to your sign-and-sail card, you will. cali4niacruisin Posted April 5, 2005 #5 Share Posted April 5, 2005 last month on the Constellation we went to the casino and asked for a couple hundred dollars cash. Since we were using it for tips and wanted smaller bills, I told the teller exactly how I wanted it and that is what I got, no questions asked. JMTtor Posted April 30, 2005 #6 Share Posted April 30, 2005 I know this is likely in the category of stupid questions, but for a Mediterranean cruise, should you choose to get a couple of hundred Euro in the casino, do you have any idea how the ship converts the rate to dollars (since it would post to your final bill, which would be in dollars also)? Or do they post the transaction to your credit card as a sale in Euro, and then your card issuer would do the billing at its exchange rate? We're veteran cruisers, but this wil be our first Mediterranean cruise. Thanks!
AFT_LOVER Posted April 30, 2005 #7 Share Posted April 30, 2005 then use the converter (machine that eats USA & gives Euros & back to USA if needed) aboard to get Euros. Best rate also as we noted when we got ashore. Then convert back to USA when leaving for US.
