Cruisedeacon Posted November 5, 2011 #1 Share Posted November 5, 2011 HEY everyone... Do you have a favorite place on the Spirit? quiet area? no smoking area? hidden area? will be gone in 8 days.... thanks for the help...:D
Cubechick Posted November 5, 2011 #2 Share Posted November 5, 2011 Even though Henry's pub is small, it can be quiet during the day. Love Henry's pub. Also, the Buccaneer area out back tends to be relatively quiet. A combo of shaded and sunning areas overlooking the wake of the ship. Great space. biker@sea Posted November 5, 2011 #3 Share Posted November 5, 2011 Over the arch from promenade deck there is a quiet sitting area. Also there is an outside aft stairway from deck 7 all the way up the back of the ship. Do find the spiral staircase from Galaxy of the Stars to the bridge viewing room.:)
sharke Posted November 5, 2011 #4 Share Posted November 5, 2011 Ditto to the above. Also there are two small alcoves in Champaign Charlies Bar. Each have 2 chairs and jut out port side with lg windows. If not many kids on cruise the aft kids area is great place. It includes several levels and types of seating. Enjoy
cruiser1955a Posted November 5, 2011 #5 Share Posted November 5, 2011 Raffles Terrace, aft of the buffet area, offers 2 Tiers of expansive seating areas with tables & chairs for eating, reading, card playing. Beautiful aft views in sun and shade. There's also tiered lounge chairs facing aft, same as tiered lounge area facing main pool on Dawn class (and other) ships, except much quieter. It was our favorite spot to relax, or take our buffet meals for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. There's an outdoor bar on the top tier for easy access to refreshments. There's also a glassed-in area, forward in the Galaxy of the Stars lounge which is very quiet when there's no activities. It offers panaramic views over the bow, as it is directly above the Bridge. Lastly, there's a cigar smoking lounge tucked into a beautiful den-like room off the Galaxy lounge. It has over-stuffed leather couches & chairs, and a wall of glass with great views. Never saw any smokers (or anyone) in there on our cruise. It's a well kept secret. Oops
electricron Posted November 5, 2011 #6 Share Posted November 5, 2011 I second the Raffles Terrace area on the stern of the Spirit. The Spirit is the sole NCL ship left with large multiple party decks on the stern, everyone should enjoy that much sun before it's gone from the USA - at least once. Cubechick Posted November 6, 2011 #8 Share Posted November 6, 2011 Not necessarily a space to "hang out" but the art gallery is worth a peak. Unlike the other ships, the gallery is a dedicated space (not a hallway) and it's really quite nice. When I last sailed the Spirit in 2009, they offered an "Enchanted Dinner" in this space. A true epicurean delight, with wine pairings that was worth the price in this lovely venue. Recent reviews indicate that they're still doing this...I'm hoping so as I sail her again in February!
