The Doubletree Biscayne Bay is in a building that's part hotel, part condos. It's just north of the Biscayne Bay Marriott, a short taxi ride to the port - no more than 5-7 minutes. I can't comment on the rooms though.

The Sheraton Bal Harbour is a beautiful oceanfront resort in one of the most exclusive areas of Miami. The neighborhood is mostly condos, but it's directly across the street from Bal Harbour Shops... http://www.balharbourshops.com/

We're going back to the Sheraton Bal Harbour. We last stayed there in 1995 and 1996. It's one of our favorite hotels. The pool area and beach are great and the Shoppes at Bal Harbour with art galleries is right across the street. We always rent a car so I don't have to limit myself to where we stay. We drop it off in Miami and use the car rental's shuttle to get to the port for the price of a tip.

Be aware though that there is a daily resort fee, 13% hotel tax, and daily parking fee. Check to see if they're included with your points.
