barbados Posted April 6, 2005 #2 Share Posted April 6, 2005 Does anyone know if this beach is still called this and if its accessable? Are there facilities/chairs/vendors etc and is it busy now? Thanks :D Yes, Carlisle Bay (pronounced KAHR-LEI) beach is still there. It is about three (3) miles long and is about one (1) mile from the cruise terminal. It has, as all Barbados' beaches have, free access to the public. It is a long beach in a somewhat industrial area (you may be able to see your ship from there) with busy spots and quiet spots. You should be able to find everything you desire from The Bayshore Complex, The Boatyard or the Carlisle Bay Centre. Many people perfer the beaches further north as they are quieter, but there is nothing wrong with carlisle. Have a wonderful time on the island! :)
