Iluvcruising2 Posted November 9, 2011 #1 Share Posted November 9, 2011 Greetings, My family group is booked on the Brilliance of the Seas 7 night cruise from Dubai, 12 Dec. Itinerary includes Dubai, Fujairah (UAE), Muscat (Oman), Abu Dhabi (UAE). Just wondering - are the casinos allowed to operate during this cruise? (not sure if the ship is sailing in international waters)

bahrain_not_dubai! Posted November 9, 2011 #4 Share Posted November 9, 2011 Greetings, My family group is booked on the Brilliance of the Seas 7 night cruise from Dubai, 12 Dec. Itinerary includes Dubai, Fujairah (UAE), Muscat (Oman), Abu Dhabi (UAE). Just wondering - are the casinos allowed to operate during this cruise? (not sure if the ship is sailing in international waters) Just a word of warning- The City of Fujairah is an industrial port with nothing to do, don't do the mistake to actually stay in the city. Go out to the Hajar Mountains or some of the wonderful nature that is within the Emirate- or the islands in the Gulf of Oman- use Fujairah as a base to explore the outlying areas, as there is nothing within the confines of the city unless you're interested in seeing a cargo airport and business offices. The Indian Ocean is also very close, but I'd reccomend travelling to Dibba (30km) away, or even to Khasab, Oman, which is quite close. About casinos, I'd expect them to open on your sea days or when travelling between UAE and Oman, unless the ship purposely sails into international waters in order to allow them to open- people who have been on the cruise would be able to tell you more about that. I speak mainly from visiting these places many times as I live 45 minutes flight time away.
