hotcarib Posted November 11, 2011 #1 Share Posted November 11, 2011 Hi, Have to share;-) just found the most delicious rum:Pirates Grog Reminds me of Tortola's finest sipping rum~delicious! You can find it at the cruise ship dock, Eldon's and Tito's (Jackson's West End). You MUST TRY IT (NA) Also, Wet Spot Roatan (High St., left side as you are heading toward West Bay) serves the best coffee and convo in WE. 2 other things worthy of note: Do NOT!!!!! count on an ATM having funds, the machines here are notoriously wonky Buy yourself an oil with lemongrass and citronella, it beats DEET, Off and neem oil plus it smells good;-) If you find yourself in West End on a Sun. Or Thurs. head down to the other end (right from the roundabout) and in front of Woody's for some awesome beach BBQ with Keoth the BBQ man and his lovely wife (they make the best island potato salad ever, and if he has fish balls give them a go!) Try some coconut, tamarind or banana soda~these are also tasty mixed with Pirate's Grog run;-) YUM! Oh, and if you are in West End and see the donut man (Melvin) buy some! His wife Eleña makes the most delicious cinnamon sugar donuts

hotcarib Posted November 21, 2011 Author #3 Share Posted November 21, 2011 The island has become my home away from home, especially the West End. Just got home from my yearly 2 month visit;-) Happy Thanksgiving!
sharp_cruiser Posted November 23, 2011 #4 Share Posted November 23, 2011 If you buy rum there, the cruise ship holds it until you disembark? Do you have a chance to pick it up before you get off the ship so you can pack it appropriately in your luggage so it won't break?
