Atlantis help

Is there a shuttle to Atlantis from the ship? Once there can we tour Atlantis for a reasonable price? Would a taxi be better. We were going to take the ship's tour but it doesn't leave until 11:30 and we wanted to tour, spend a couple hours in casino and then walk around Nassau a bit. Anyone have any ideas for us? We are 4 women in out late 50's and with health problems we can only walk a short distance.

Any ideas out there for us?

stay away from the ship's overpriced tours. No need to pay an arm and leg for it. Look into the tours booked privately. Or even call ahead and find out about tours when you arrive. Taxi's are plentiful right off the ship and cheap. I mean cheap cheap. 5.00 per person give or take? There are people on the island that can even assist you as well to the best approach based on timing you'll have.

What I always do is get to nassau, then get off the ship and get a taxi around the corner and have them take me wherever I want to go. Of course, I know where I want to go beforehand. The ship will try to scare you and say you do not know who you are riding with using taxi's, never know if they are trusted and yada yada.. never know if you'll make it back on time. I did a taxi over there a couple yrs ago and it was so cheap and convenient compared to ship's pricing. Of course that extra pricing from the ship has "convenience" that comes along with it, they take care of everything for you.
