What is a good hotel to stay at pre cruise in Fort Lauderdale? Is there one that has free shuttle service?

All depends on the amount you want to spend.

 

Theres the Renaissance, and Hilton Marina which are really nice hotels right across the street from the port.

 

Then there's a Holiday Inn, Extended Stay, Embassy Suites, and a Hyatt Regency nearby.

 

For the cost of a taxi personally I would not worry about a free shuttle in my decision.

We are staying at the Hampton Inn Plantation-they offer pick up from the airport, transportation to the pier and breakfast-ran about $150

If you want upscale.......LOTS of fun........super restaurant choices...live entertainment....and awesome pool open until 10:00 PM:

 

Hard Rock Seminole Casino. About 10 minutes from the airport. Can't be matched in that area !!!

None of the upscale hotels offer shuttle service. But if staying on the beach, if you don't go too far north, you will be able to swing the reasonable cab fares for sure. You might want to check out a map and the hotels available on trip advisor.com There are some really nice beach resorts....W, Westin, B, Lago Mar etc
