Leveraging Camp phones on Carnival Spirit

Another post just reminded me about this: on Spirit the phones are not restricted to Camp. You can call your cabin and vice-versa. We found this to be useful because one of us could stay in the cabin during nap time, but the other could wander and still be contacted when the kids woke early ... every day.

These phone work bow-to-stern (more or less) so it's a bit better than a radio set in that respect. The downside is that you only get them (I think )for kids 2-5, and there is a $150 fee if you lose it.

Aside from that, ours did not work in our cabin (8060) so it had to be charged every night to avoid in dying while trying to constantly connect to the network at full power. It also didn't work well on Deck 10... but I kind of think we have a marginal handset. Who knows? Just plug the damn thing in, because it will beep when the battery goes low.
