TheWests Posted November 30, 2011 #1 Share Posted November 30, 2011 My fiance (husband by then) and I are going to be stopping at St.Maarteen on our cruise. I have been there before, probably 10 years ago, but he has not. We would really like to do some shopping and hang out at the beach. Is it necessary to do an excursion to be able to do this well, or is it possible to do it all on your own and get around easily. Any help would be great! Thanks! OhtoRetire Posted December 2, 2011 #2 Share Posted December 2, 2011 My husband and I plan to do both. Head straight for Orient Beach from the ship and leave about 1:00 pm to get some shopping in before going back to the ship for a 4:30 pm departure. Allowing 40 minutes for cab back to port for shopping.
gtaylor Posted December 2, 2011 #3 Share Posted December 2, 2011 OhtoRetire has the right idea. Grab a taxi right at the Cruise Facility to Orient Beach. Fares are set and posted (click) I'd suggest you go measure your tables RIGHT NOW and put the measurements in with your travel documents. Tablecloths and linens are one of the best buys here, along with jewelry, booze and perfume. gary
