Do the Dividers Open

We are going on the Norwegian Star in April 2012. We are in cabin 1080 and onward. We have 5 cabins in a row. Do the dividers between the balconies open to connect the balconies. I have heard a bunch of different opinions on this. Can anyone help! Thanks!!!:D

 

Also can you bring wine on board we are leaving from Tampa

OK Here is the long and short of it

 

NCL Policy

Yes they open, but something special is needed for the room stewards to open them, but they are not to be opened for saftey purposes.

 

Wine Policy

Yes you can bring on board bottles of wine (no boxes) that are subject to a corkage fee of $15 and up depending on the size of the bottle.

 

Reality

 

Some have been sucessful in getting their cabin steward to open the balconies regardless of policy.

 

Some have gotten their wine through security and not been sent to the declaration table to pay the corkage fee. Some have gotten their wine though in their luggage without being called to the naughty room.

 

This is why you are getting different opinions on these and other subjects.

We ask our room steward to open our balcony door between my room and our parents room. Never a problem! I have never brought wine on so I can't help you there. Have a great cruise!

But, this is a fairly new policy of not opening the balcony dividers. Do not count on it. The new policy has been in place for a few months.
