gtaylor Posted December 2, 2011 #2 Share Posted December 2, 2011 You can use Euros, but there is no need to change dollars to Euros, as dollars are accepted everywhere, and in some cases can be an advantage, as some bars and restaurants offer 1 Dollar = 1 Euro. gary
BOOGALOO509 Posted December 2, 2011 #3 Share Posted December 2, 2011 I understand the Euro is only valid on the French side of the island and not the Dutch side, even though both France and Holland have the Euro as their own currency. The US dollar can be used on both sides. Regards. John
gtaylor Posted December 2, 2011 #4 Share Posted December 2, 2011 You can use the Euro at many/most places on the Dutch side of the island, small vendors probably excluded. Grocery stores usually post prices in Dollars, Guilders and Euros. gary
The Big Booper Posted December 2, 2011 #5 Share Posted December 2, 2011 At Baywatch, our fav on Orient Beach, they accept dollars 1 to 1 as Euros. So you are getting a 20% discount. Since Andy and Cheryl come from NJ, right over the border from us, we always like to shoot the breeze with them and check out new license plates mounted on the walls.
