Snorkeling Marriott reef balls

Has anyone snorkeled in front of the Marriott on 7 mile beach? How is it?

We are a group of 11 and have kids, so we thought this might be a good multi- purpose spot. ... Beach rentals, snorkeling and a nice sandy beach.

Any other suggestions?

It can be a nice spot for kids. There are usually plenty of fish around.

What is the closest public area with restrooms? I assume the Hotels don't let people off the beach use their facilities.

Royal Palms would be the closest. Estimating about 7 or 8 properties up the beach.

Marriott has a day pass for $10 and you can use their facilities, pools, chairs, etc.

This would be your a good option, but it is depends on the hotel's occupancy as to whether they make any day passes available.

I remember there being a shoal with some snorkeling just off the beach by the Hyatt, and now the reef balls also have some snorkeling. Is there another snorkeling spot on 7 mile you would recommend?... Or is the Marriott as good as any? What about the public beach?
