Avril Posted December 9, 2011 Author #26 Share Posted December 9, 2011 What I can tell you is that the records will not update quickly and your mother may not be issued a Platinum card for the second leg of your B2B. The first leg of our B2B was my first Carnival Cruise and on the second leg I was still issued a blue "first time" card instead of a Gold card. That's ok!! :D As long as she has enough cruises (and she will after 1/2 the B2B, the 2nd part will be her 10th) to be Platinum and they update their records before the new Past Guest Program goes into effect, she'll be happy!! :D Do you (or anyone else) think if we printed off a copy of her Cruise History (as proof) from Carnival's website and took it to the Purser's Desk at the beginning of the 2nd cruise, they would exchange her Gold card for a Platinum one? Like I said before, it really doesn't matter much, I was just wondering!! Sent from my iPad
scchasgal Posted December 9, 2011 #27 Share Posted December 9, 2011 Not in Port Canaveral - as you go through customs they have a separate line for Non US but you don't need to meet ahead of time anywhere. I did a B2B on the Dream last March but we got off the ship to meet my parents and do a bit of shopping inbetween. What I can tell you is that the records will not update quickly and your mother may not be issued a Platinum card for the second leg of your B2B. The first leg of our B2B was my first Carnival Cruise and on the second leg I was still issued a blue "first time" card instead of a Gold card. My last two cruises out of Port Canaveral I had to go at 6 am to a lounge and clear customs. When did this change? It is such a headache getting in that looooong line. September 2010 was the last time I had to do it. Maybe it depends how many non U.S. citizens are onboard?

Avril Posted December 10, 2011 Author #32 Share Posted December 10, 2011 I just booked my first back to back cruise for october. This may sound stupid but how do you link them? Make sure the PVP knows you're doing a B2B when you call to book, you'll need both booking numbers (or the PVP will give them to you if you don't already have them) and he/she will link the bookings (or make sure they're linked) for you!! :D What ship and itineraries are you doing? Have a blast!!!! :D Sent from my iPad
Elmo31 Posted December 11, 2011 #33 Share Posted December 11, 2011 Avril....we are doing the Destiny back to back in October (10 nights total) we will be going to Grand Turk, Jamaica, Half Moon Cay Bahamas, Nassau Bahamas, and Grand Cayman. bills blasters Posted December 11, 2011 #34 Share Posted December 11, 2011 Good to read all this useful information. We will be on our first b2b in a month. We get to stay in the same room thankfully. We will be on the Liberty. I imagine it will be the same process as the Dream. Sure will be nice to be sitting there watching as all the newbies on the 2nd cruise start to board. That is a good idea to do our laundry that morning. Avril Posted December 11, 2011 Author #35 Share Posted December 11, 2011 Avril....we are doing the Destiny back to back in October (10 nights total)we will be going to Grand Turk, Jamaica, Half Moon Cay Bahamas, Nassau Bahamas, and Grand Cayman. I booked online on Carnivals website so do I just need to call Carnival and have them linked? Thanks Sounds like fun as well, I've never been on the Destiny but I'd love to try every Carnival ship someday!! :D Our's will be 14 days total because we're doing 2 7 day cruises, can't wait!! :D I love Half Moon Cay, it's beautiful!! :D I was there on a Holland America cruise (it's their private island but since Carnival owns them, they use it as well), you''ll love it!! We go to Nassau, St. Thomas, St. Maarten (the 1st cruise) and Cozumel, Belize, Isla Roatan and Costa Maya (the 2nd cruise)!! Yes, I would definatly call Carnival and make sure they know you're on a B2B and make sure they link your bookings (if they're not already linked)!! :D You'll need to have your booking numbers which should be on your conformation and are definatly on your cruise documents (if you've made final payment)!! That way, you'll be sure to get your letter at the end of the 1st cruise telling you where and when to meet with the other B2Bers to get your new S&S Cards and be escorted off the ship, through customs and straight back onboard!! :D Also tell your cabin steward that your on a B2B, so I've been told, he/she will move your luggage for you (if you have to change cabins). Next, tell your new cabin steward (again, if you have to change cabins) that you'll be in that cabin on the next cruise so that he/she gets that cabin ready 1st so you can move in right away and not have to wait until 1:30pm!! :D I found all this out here on CC, great place!! This'll be my 1st B2B!!
Avril Posted December 11, 2011 Author #36 Share Posted December 11, 2011 Sure will be nice to be sitting there watching as all the newbies on the 2nd cruise start to board. That's the part I'm looking forward to as well!!!! :D You can always tell when the people who are walking onboard for the 1st time are 1st Time Cruisers, their expressions are priceless!!!! :DThat and watching all the people disembark in the morning and we don't have to!!!! :D Oh, and fully enjoying the last night (of cruise # 1) without having the depressing feeling of knowing you have to get off the ship in the morning, I'm looking forward to that as well!!!! :D
Elmo31 Posted December 12, 2011 #37 Share Posted December 12, 2011 Thank you for all your help....you will love the Liberty, she is a pretty ship. We had a blast on her. The western route is my favorite. We were on it before the 2.0 expansion though. Have a great cruise. Wow back to back 7 days!! AWESOME:)
Avril Posted December 12, 2011 Author #38 Share Posted December 12, 2011 You're very welcome, I hope you have an amazing time!! :D When you get back, come on here and tell us all about it (with pics)!! :D I'm planning on having a blast, 14 days with Carnival, should be tons of fun!! :D :D Except, we're not on the Liberty (although I'd sure like to be someday). We're on the Dream for our B2B!!!! :D :D Sent from my iPad
