patsicruiser Posted April 9, 2005 #1 Share Posted April 9, 2005 I read on another site that unless you have a credit card, you cannot get on a ship. Is this true? My husband doesn't believe in them and doesn't have one. Can he just use one of mine? Thanks.

seahorse Posted April 9, 2005 #3 Share Posted April 9, 2005 Of course, I use my corporate card all the time. He never uses his.
debjo Posted April 9, 2005 #4 Share Posted April 9, 2005 [/b]For patsicruiser... Your husband could also open a "cash" account with the ship if he doesn't like using credit cards. Debjo
cruiserb Posted April 9, 2005 #5 Share Posted April 9, 2005 You don't have to have a credit card, but you do have to open an onboard account. You can use either credit/debit card or cash. If you are going to use a debit card, be aware that a hold will be put on your checking account that may be in effect for up to 30 days. If you use cash, you with have to give a pre-determined amount of cash. It is not up to you to say how much cash you will give. You might want to check with your TA or the cruiseline to find out how much cash you will need so there are no "surprises" at embarkation. That is a LOUSY time to find you aren't prepared! And remember, each of you will have an onboard account and will each have to put up the same amount of cash, not just one of you.
