Hope you enjoy your B2B in April too. Where are you sailing from ?

We fly into MIA and have decided to stay in a hotel there for 2 nights (just to see what Miami is all about) then we sail from Fort Lauderdale and have also decided to stay on there for a further 5 nights before coming home to a damp and dreary March in the UK . We do love Scotland its just our weather we dont like lol.

Thanks again for the info.

I'm doing a B2B on the Radiance in November sailing from Miami. East & West Caribbean. On the changeover day are excursions organised such as going to the everglades or can you do this independently. Or in reality is there no time to do anything worthwhile. I'm quite happy to relax on board. It would be nice if there was a choice. Thanks for any info you can provide.

That sounds like the ideal B2B! Hopefully some day!

We did a B2B last October on Carnival Victory. Carnival sent us a letter a couple of days before detailing what we would have to do. We were staying in the same room for both weeks. We waited unitl everyone got off of the ship, and met down at the Pursers office. One of the pursers took us off, and past the line of people to Customs. Customs looked at our paperwork, stamped it, and the Purser escorted us back on board. They took us around the lines, and the ropes. It took approximately 10 minutes. We had to get off for Customs since they did not have facilities setup on the ship for the 8 or 10 of us that were doing B2B. We used the same key from the week before initially, and then picked up a new key from the Pursers office later that day. For fun, we kept using our old card until it stopped working in the door lock. It lasted 2 days into the next cruise. Probably so that if a ship is delayed due to weather they don't have to make new keys. Our room steward knew that we were doing B2B. We told him not to worry about making up the room on that day since he would be busy enough. Our room steward was fantastic. The letter stated that if we were switching rooms, to have our bags packed up, and the room stewards would have the bags moved from the old room to the new room. we stayed on the ship that day, and sat on the balcony waving to the people leaving, and watching new people come on.

Carnival did a fantastic job of handling this. Everyone that we dealt with was fantastic, and it was a piece of cake.

Since we got our new room keys later in the day, we had to go down to 0 deck to have our pictures taken with Security for our new cards. They were very nice, and since they knew us, greeted us by name every time they saw us, and wished us a good time in port.

It depends mostly on the port. If you're in Southampton, try the bus tour to Stonehenge and Salisbury. If you're in New York, take the M4 bus to the Cloisters in Fort Tryon Park (see the "And Now for Something Completely Different" section of your tour guide).

Just out of curiosity, why b2b cruises when there are 10 and 14 day cruises out there? Do you have the same itinerary or book it so that you have 2 different weeks. And if you stay on the same ship, is it more economical to do the b2b cruises, or is it cheaper to book a 14 day one?

I've never even considered a b2b cruise, so all of this is new to me!!

Thanks!

Hello Poptart,

Well we have only done one back to back so far and have another one planned for this Oct. There are so many different reasons for doing this. First of all we have found that 7 days was not enough so last year we did the Mariner for 2 weeks. It was nice because 1 week was the eastern and the second was the western caribbean. The second reason is we only have to pay 1 airfare from Ohio for 2 cruises. This year we wanted to try the new Freedom ship so we booked it while onboard the Mariner and received the OBC, plus our Diamond discount, and used the Crown and Anchor coupon for the sailing and credit for stockholders. So we think we got a good deal. The only down side is the Freedom only sails to the Western Caribbean. But we enjoy the ship more than the ports so it really is a matter of preference. The weeks are also not as rushed for us and we dont feel like we missed out on anything doing a b2b. As far as booking a 14 day most are on the smaller older ships. We are doing a 15 day to Hawaii Oct 2007 and are looking forward to that. It will be our 2nd cruise there and probably our favorite. Now we love the ports on the Hawaii voyage. So all I can say is try it....you just might get hooked......

Hi if your doing E & W Caribean if you stay on the same ship for both cruises .The 2nd week is the same as the first outside of the ports!! Food and shows wise!! Doing a different ship the next week is like say going to diffent islands you stay at diffent resorts !!Now if the cruise is a 14 day cruise that's different all together .The food and shows will be different each night !! so on and so fouth .And what is you don't like the cruise the frist week .Then you have it for the 2nd week to .It's happen to us .
