Place to eat leaving IAH + something to do while waiting for flight

Last minute questions:

1) We get into IAH on a Saturday around lunch time, staying in Galveston (have a rental car), where would be a decent/safe place to stop and get something to eat on the way to Galveston (McD's, etc is fine)?

2) Our cruise is a Sunday to Sunday, but my return flight isn't until 5:30PM. Ideas of things to do with 2 kids (14/11)?

Thanks,

Kevin

Moody Gardens on the island is a great place to take kids with a rainforest, 3D Imax and aquarium.

I second that AND although it's a chain restaurant, we take the grandchildren to the Rainforest Cafe. They love the animatronics and they loved the boat ride downstairs too!

Space Center Houston in Clear Lake is also fun for the kids its about ten minutes off of 45 on the way back to IAH. There is also the kemah boardwalk in Kemah about 15 minutes off of 45 with tons of plaes to eat and kinda fun to mill around.
