livermorenancy Posted May 3, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 3, 2004 Hi-we were on the crown 4/4/04 for the 14 day cruise in an owner's suite. You get 3 bottles of liquor included (you chose from their list), free sodas or mixers daily, afternoon treats, good sized balcony, order whatever for breakfast. Free special trays if you have a few guests over. Your conceirge, Gemma, will get you in the reservation only restaurants when possible even when they tell you downstairs they are booked. Ashumune was our butler-tell him hi. Also say hi to Pamala and Wilson up in Pasta Restuarant from John and Nancy from California. We had the nicest time talking to them at our dinners. forneysnoop Posted May 4, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 4, 2004 I am also in an Owners Suite on the Crown sailing May 9th. I saw your post and wanted to let you know that answers to all of your questions are located only two posts below yours. It is called "how much to tip butler". It will tell you about ALL the perks coming to you for being a suite owner. It sounds really great. wendyr20000 Posted May 4, 2004 Author #4 Share Posted May 4, 2004 you are the 1st person i have heard going on this date, maybe we will have whole ship to ourselves,we are in suite #1007 me and my husband , i hope every thing goes good with this cruise out there now, looking so forward for this vacation. when i called ncl about perks for owners suite they really did not know all that much about it. wendy
forneysnoop Posted May 5, 2004 #5 Share Posted May 5, 2004 I think we will have plenty of company on the PH deck. I checked the NCL website and they do not even show any Owners Suites left. How many cruises have you been on? Do you have to come a long way to the pier? I have been on two cruises that the ship had trouble one week prior to sailing. Between bad press and angry cruisers, I think they will go out if their way to make sure that repairs are made and service is excellent. wendyr20000 Posted May 5, 2004 Author #6 Share Posted May 5, 2004 we have been on 3 cruises, big red boat years ago, just ok, royal car. to south carb ,that was ship was really nice, and disney magic with the kids, it was really nice, we live 20 mins out of phila. i am so looking forward to this vac, i think your are right about ncl trying to work everything out on this ship, i also read on this sight somewhere the owners suites are really big, whers are coming from and what time are you planning on getting to pier, we think around 11:30-12:00 wendy
forneysnoop Posted May 5, 2004 #7 Share Posted May 5, 2004 I also live about 20 mins. outside of Phila. I plan to arrive at the pier about 1:00-1:30. The tickets say that boarding will begin at 1:00. It will be a madhouse. I have cruised from this pier before and it has it's advantages, the biggest one is when you return and are home by 9:00 AM, and do not have to wait for a flight. sfbear Posted May 5, 2004 #8 Share Posted May 5, 2004 We had the owner's suite (No. 1009) on the 4/4 cruise out of Philly - - we were neighbors of LivermoreNancy. The suites are great and the service we received was very good. Nancy is right about all of the people she mentioned (Butler, concierge, Pasta Cafe, etc). We also enjoyed service of Eddie and Dominic in the Crown Casino Bar. Dominic may be on another ship now. Enjoy your owner's suite - - I hope that things are on the mend as it seems the ship has had some recent problems. All in all, we had a wonderful time. As to the port, well let's hope they have their act together by now. It was not the best check-in experience I ever had . . . but we were ushered to the front of the line when we mentioned to a person who appeared to be in charge that we were in the owner's suite. We felt somewhat guilty, but that is just another of the benefits ! Have a wonderful trip. Rich and Merlyn - Alameda California
