Alaska Itineraries/ships

Recommended Posts

I know I've seen postings about the different Alaska itineraries, but can't find them. We're looking at a cruise in July but are interested in opinions about the different itineraries and ships. We were on the Star last year in Hawaii and loved it - how are the Sun and Spirit in comparison? Which of the three routes presents the best options?
I'm really interested in seeing whales, glaciers and the wildlife.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

We chose the Star for several reasons:

1. Price
2. Departs from Seattle (cheaper to fly into than Vancouver)
3. Glacier Bay was part of the itinerary

Hope this helps!

We were on the Dawn last year and loved it. It is the sister ship for the Star. We are going on the spirit to alaska on 7/24 & chose it because the cabin level that we wanted was no longer available on the other 2 ships.
