JUST ADD WATER Posted April 12, 2005 #1 Share Posted April 12, 2005 Since I doubt I'll find too much gold while panning :D , I thought I might give the old slots a try on our Dawn Princess cruise. I know when we cruise in the Caribbean we have to be so far off shore before they open up the casinos. How does this work on an Alaskan cruise? Anyone have any Princess casino experience to share? Need to plan how much to bring for our "donations"! PS-After watching all 5 HOURS of the Travel Channel's Alaska programs last night AND reading every single book in the county library about Alaska (The best IMHO: Searching for Alaska by Peter Jennings), I feel like a tour guide! MichTraveler Posted April 12, 2005 #2 Share Posted April 12, 2005 Casinos open when "at sea", so not when in the Ports. There will be plenty of time to gamble.
garycarla Posted April 12, 2005 #3 Share Posted April 12, 2005 On Carnival Spirit to Alaska last year, there was plenty of casino time. If you are going northbound, they will close somewhat early the last night, since they actually tie up a few hours after midnight, while most of the passengers are sleeping. wolfie11 Posted April 12, 2005 #4 Share Posted April 12, 2005 The casino will also be closed all day when you're in Glacier Bay (no gambling in national parks).
