BcIcemen Posted January 5, 2012 #1 Share Posted January 5, 2012 How is the noise from above on the Lobby Deck? Any cabins better than others if you stayed in more than one? What cabin did you stay in?
astropilot Posted January 5, 2012 #2 Share Posted January 5, 2012 We have had coves twice on the Dream. Never a noise problem, that we noticed.

CruisingSoon88 Posted January 5, 2012 #4 Share Posted January 5, 2012 We were in 2262 and no noise at all. In fact we booked a cove again and got 2258 because we liked the location.
coasterjan Posted January 5, 2012 #5 Share Posted January 5, 2012 We were in Cabin 2285 in November, and noticed no noise at all inside the cabin. Occasionally, when we were on the balcony, we could hear neighbors talking softly, but other than that it seemed very private and secluded - absolutely LOVED the cove balcony. 7continentKaren Posted January 5, 2012 #6 Share Posted January 5, 2012 I thought the cove balconies were ugly and a rip, but that is just me. Much smaller than a regular balcony. Usually the best bet for a quiet room is to be sandwiched between two floors of just rooms and also not to be too close to the maintenance closet or laundry. fuzzmane Posted January 5, 2012 #7 Share Posted January 5, 2012 We had 2337 and my brother had the one next to us. We all loved the cove balconies. Would sail in a cove everytime if possible. We did not have any trouble at all with noise.
dickens56 Posted January 5, 2012 #8 Share Posted January 5, 2012 I thought the balconies were a little larger. That is according to other posts.
JennLuvs2Cruise Posted January 5, 2012 #9 Share Posted January 5, 2012 My mom and my brother both had cove balcony cabins on the Dream back in 2010. They STILL rave & talk about how awesome they were. Both of their cabins were located midship and they never once complained about noise or movement. Enjoy! :)
RunsWithFlyingDolphins Posted January 6, 2012 #10 Share Posted January 6, 2012 I was on one on the Magic and there was no problem with noise at all. Some ships are better than others, I've found. Like the ship I'm on right now (The World) is pretty bad. I'm above a public area and can get kind of loud when I want to take a nap during the day. They are larger than the standard balcony not smaller so I don't know where you heard that piece of information. OP we had 2349 which was below the annex area of the dining room. bandtaxi Posted January 6, 2012 #12 Share Posted January 6, 2012 We LOVED our cove balcony. We were in 2258 and had no noise from floors above or below. Our experience with balconies has been that there is more noise from the passengers on the balconies or in the hallway than what is above or below us. You can look on the maps to see what may be above or below you for public rooms, but your neighbors can make a big difference and you can't check that out ahead of time. . . . . . letsgo39 Posted January 6, 2012 #13 Share Posted January 6, 2012 We were in Cabin 2310. a cove, on the Magic in June. There was no problem with noise at all. We loved it and loved being so close to the water. The person who said it is smaller than a regular balcony is wrong. She is the only person who I have ever heard say they didn't like it which makes me think she was never in a Cove at all.
