Bahamas and water temp

We sail to the Bahamas this in a few days and was courious if anyone has been down this time of year and if we would be able to enjoy the water. We swim in Lake Supieror in the summer so I know we can handle some cool water.:eek:

We went last January/February and were able to go in...it definitely wasn't hot, but it was fine. :)

just got back from there on 1/2. It was 80 degrees outside and the water was cold. There was people swimming in it but it was not comfortable. We just swam in the pools instead at the wyndam in nassau.

Probably about the same.. We went swimming in Lake Erie this past June and I am sure it will not be that cold when we go in 3 weeks:)

We snorkeled in the Bahamas last February and it was so cold it took your breath away. I know thats not what you want to hear. Having said that, we still snorked! Brrrrrr!

If it's reasonably warm outside the initial jolt might be a bit of a shock, but unless it's REALLY cold water I get used to it pretty quick. Can't be much worse than the Great Lakes!

The temp in Nassau this week will be in the mid seventies. Nice to walk around or be in the sun. I don't know what the water tempeture will be like. Last October it was great. Have a fun cruise. :)

We were there in Nov. ...... once. Won't be doing that again, water was too cool for us.

we were there last January and went swimming. If you can do Lake Superior it will feel warm to you. We've done both. The trick for cooler water is to get wet quick and start moving. Have fun!
