kyrisong1 Posted January 9, 2012 #101 Share Posted January 9, 2012 I usually cruise on dates in the fall or winter so I haven't seen "packed with kids" cruise. But I have seen kids on cruises, they don't tend to bother me unless mom and dad ignore the kid and they use bad behavior to try and get a little attention. Camp Carnival does a great job with keeping them busy!! The only time I've been truly irritated by a kids behavior is when mom and gramma took a little 3 year old to high tea. They seemed to think it's adorable to watch their "little darling" spin around and act like a ballerina, which would be cute actually if she weren't tripping around and slamming into people and clogging the hall so the waiters could not get around easy to serve people. We had several teen boys on our Miracle cruise and it was really pretty amusing to watch them posing and doing their best to act "macho" and manly. One particular red headed boy, maybe 15 was wearing the bathrobe around on the Lido in his best "Hugh Hefner" imitation, just really cute!!! I think it's bad parents that make it hard to cruise with kids, kids push the limits and make noise and run, because that is just part of their "job" in growing up, it's natural. The parents have to be there to rope em in, not off in the bar, casino or spa. JMO, Carole
PittsburghGirlee Posted January 9, 2012 #102 Share Posted January 9, 2012 As others have posted...."Timing and Length" of cruise is the determining factor. We usually cruise 7 days in the first or second week of May or the third week of Sept and have rarely seen many children. I would NEVER do a Spring Break or holiday time cruise. Just my own personal preference;).
luvtheships Posted January 9, 2012 #103 Share Posted January 9, 2012 We had 1500 kids on our cruise Christmas week but I wouldn't trade it for the world. It's kind of simple really, cruise on non-vacation weeks and you'll be free of most kids. OR, choose 8 day cruises over the vacation weeks because most parents won't pull kids out of school. As far as the predator angle goes, they seized a camera of a guy on our cruise Xmas week. I'm sure anyone on the lido or deck 11 saw it the last day at sea. The funny part is the woman he was with was one of the most attractive on the cruise, but apparently someone felt he was taking pictures and we watched the Carnival security go through his camera in awe. So I agree, they will never, and should never release that intel. finally....I am not alone!!!
wentworth Posted January 9, 2012 #104 Share Posted January 9, 2012 A lot of states have a full week off in February for President's Day?? News to me. February vacation in some states includes Presidents Day. Our schools in NH vary the February vacation weeks.
fellowfloater Posted January 9, 2012 #105 Share Posted January 9, 2012 Exactly why I will probably NEVER choose to cruise on Disney! Worse than kids are drunken College "students".
